The school dress features a high waistline and a round neck. The dress should finish just above the knee, and has a zip closure on the reverse.

The school dress is an ideal shape to be worn over either a school t-shirt or a normal blouse or shirt.

The school dress is a general pinafore shape and should not age, therefore you can continue to use this pattern for many years of school wear.

The pattern is quite easy to follow and can be made from less than 1 meter of fabric.

This pattern will require some knowledge of sewing and an understanding of what pattern symbols mean, you will also need to be able to insert a long dress zip into the back of the dress (if you not sure please search on line for pattern symbols and sewing instructions or refer to a good sewing book).

Approximate amounts of fabric required:

1m fabric (cottons, polycottons, or wool mixes for winter dresses)
The lining is to be cut from the main fabric.
40cm dress zip (cut to size for smaller dresses)
Matching threads

Please read the instructions for further information on fabric requirements etc.

THIS IS NOT A PRINTED PAPER PATTERN:

The patterns included are age 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. These are FULL SIZE patterns (this is an all in one/multisized pattern so you can adjust the pattern should you need an in between size, and cut the size you need) , so there is no need to worry about enlarging or scaling up the patterns, all you have to do is print them off on A4 paper and assemble the pieces (full printing instructions are included) and cut out the size you need.
